About Us
What is raiseRED?
raiseRED Dance Marathon is the University of Louisville’s largest student-run philanthropic organization, and its efforts benefit the Norton Children's Cancer Institute and the UofL School of Medicine. It is also a proud Miracle Network Dance Marathon, connecting us to a national movement of students fighting pediatric illness.
Every February, raiseRED hosts a nationally recognized dance marathon that celebrates the children & families we support. With hundreds of students involved each year, we aim to be a dynamic, inclusive, and impactful entity in our city. We welcome you to join in our efforts by donating, attending our events leading up to the marathon, volunteering or registering to participate.
Our Impact
In the past twelve years, we have raised over $5.7 million for the Norton Children's Cancer Institute and the University of Louisville School of Medicine's Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. Half of our funds support patient needs, while the other half goes to research for cures and more effective treatments.
Our organization not only raises money for the hospitals and research, but we also build relationships with the families. We have a unique program that matches children with our leadership and hosts events that let them just be kids.
