Youth Philanthropy
Building a culture of service.
RaiseRED is honored to work with numerous schools in the state to help facilitate their dance marathons. Similar to raiseRED, students raise money for the Norton Children’s Cancer Institute and University of Louisville School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics’ Division of Hematology and Oncology, learn a line dance, and participate in other fun activities during the marathon!

If you would like any information on how raiseRED can assist at your Dance Marathon or if you have any questions on how to get started, please contact our Youth Philanthropy Coordinator, Megan.
This year, Mini Marathons raised over $83,500 because Kids Can't Wait!
Why Should My School Host a Mini Marathon?
Hosting a dance marathon is an excellent way to empower students to promote positive change within their community, as well as to teach students the value of philanthropy in an engaging way.
It is also a great way to connect with the University of Louisville and develop relationships with college students as they prepare for their own transition to higher education.
How Can My School Raise Money?
The raiseRED Executive Board will assist with brainstorming and coordinating different fundraisers.
Some ideas that have been successful in the past include penny wars, pie your teacher, bake sales, and selling candy grams. Fundraising ideas can be created by the students to best accommodate for the unique atmosphere of your school.
Some ideas work better for one school over another, but any idea has the potential for success.
If a mini marathon does not work for your school we would love to help you host a different fundraising event!
